As a local board agency of the City of Toronto,
Exhibition Place has adopted the City's Corporate Records Management Program.
The objective of this program is to ensure the cost-effective and co-ordinated
management of Exhibition Place's records throughout their life span. This is
achieved through:
- programs for the storage and preservation of records;
- inventories of departments' records holdings;
- development, implementation, and maintenance of the Corporate Records Classification System in order to classify and organize all records;
- transfer, storage, and retrieval of inactive records in the Exhibition Place's on-site records centre;
- development and implementation of records management practices, policies and standards;
- training of management and staff on records management concepts and practices;
The scope of the Corporate Records Management Program
encompasses all records created by the employees of the Board of Governors
of Exhibition Place including those at the Direct Energy Centre and the
Canadian National Exhibition. All records created and/or received by individuals
in their capacity as employees, are property of the Board of Governors and must
be accounted for under the Program. Employee participation is mandatory.
